Canada. A Victorian 57th Battalion of Infantry Peterborough Rangers Helmet Plate, c.1879
In white metal, voided, unmarked, illustrating a beaver above the Roman numeral "LVII" (57) in the centre, within a belt inscribed "PETERBOROUGH RANGERS", surrounded by an open-ended wreath of maple leaves resting upon a starburst, surmounted by a Victorian crown, measuring 101.7 mm (w) x 129 mm (h), all three lugs intact, extremely fine.
