Type I with Large Beaver. Cap Badge (in browning copper, maker marked "GEO. H. LEES & Co. 1915" on the reverse, measuring 40.5 mm (w) x 46.5 mm (h), both lugs intact); Collar Tab Pair (in browning copper, one is maker marked "GEO. H. LEES & Co. 1915" on the reverse, the other is unmarked, measuring 27.5 mm (w) x 29.5 mm (h) each, with both lugs intact on each); and Shoulder Title Pair (in browning copper, maker marked "CARON BROS. 1918" on the reverse, measuring 32.7 mm (w) x 13.5 mm (h) each, with both lugs intact on each). Contact marks, the Cap Badge cleaned, very fine.
Footnote: The Battalion was raised in the Counties of Halton and Dufferin, Ontario with mobilization headquarters at Orangeville under the authority of G.O. 151, December 2, 1915. The Battalion sailed from Halifax, Nova Scotia on April 11, 1917 aboard the S.S. Carpathia, under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel P. Domville with a strength of 26 officers and 710 other ranks, arriving in England on the 22nd. In England, the Battalion was absorbed into the 8th Reserve Battalion. It was disbanded on September 15, 1920.
