Type II with "Overseas 175 Battalion". In pickled brass, voided, measuring 36.2 mm (w) x 43 mm (h), both lugs intact, scattered wear in the pickled finish, giving it a reddish appearance, near extremely fine.
Footnote: The Battalion was raised in the Medicine Hat district of Alberta with mobilization headquarters at Medicine Hat under the authority of G.O. 69, July 15, 1916. The Battalion sailed October 4, 1916 under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel N. Spencer with a strength of 30 officers and 847 other ranks. It was disbanded on September 15, 1920.
