Footnote: The 50th Regiment (Gordon Highlanders of Canada) was formed in Victoria, British Columbia, Sir Arthur Currie helping to raise the regiment in 1913. It contributed volunteers to the 7th Infantry Battalion and the 16th Infantry Battalion "Canadian Scottish", among others at the outbreak of the war. The 50th Regiment was amalgamated with the 88th Regiment (Victoria Fusiliers), to form the Canadian Scottish in 1920. The Canadian Scottish perpetuated the 16th Infantry Battalion Canadian Scottish of the CEF. The 50th Regiment, with its origins as a Scottish regiment, had a sporran badge.
