Includes three pieces: Tunic, Trousers and Side Cap. 1. Tunic: exterior is fabricated from a grayish-blue wool blend, the traditional look of the RCAF, with "CANADA" shoulder flashes in white embroidered lettering on a grayish-blue wool base sewn in place on both shoulders. The front has four large pockets, one on each breast which have decorative straps giving them a pleated-look, the other two at the waist are without pleats and are larger and deeper than the breast pockets. All four pockets have fold over button down flaps with reinforced button holes and small brass buttons bearing the RCAF eagle insignia, the breast pockets with dual snaps. Sewn in place above the left breast pocket is a Canadian Volunteer Service Medal Ribbon Bar with silver Maple Leaf denoting overseas service. In addition, there is a small pocket placed between the breast pocket and the waist pocket on the right side. The front is completed by four large brass buttons on the right side, each with the crowned RCAF eagle insignia, facing an equal number of reinforced button holes on the left, the large buttons maker marked "Wm. SCULLY LTD. MONTREAL" on the reverse. There are belt loops on either side at the waist, with the belt itself having straps and is attached to the loops via snap closures, the left end with a large octagonal-shaped brass buckle with dual prongs, the buckle maker marked "RODEN BROS. Ltd." on the reverse, the right end with two rows of three reinforced holes each for attachment to the buckle, ensuring a snug fit at the waist. Both sleeve cuffs have Wing Commander rank stripes sewn in place, consisting of three stripes, each of which incorporates a light blue stripe flanked by wide black stripes on either side. The inside of the tunic is lined in gray rayon in the body and in white rayon in the sleeves, with a series of numbers in black ink inscribed in the right sleeve. There is a top-entry pocket with a button down flap on the left breast with a brown button sewn in place on its front. Sewn in place just above the pocket is an embroidered manufacturer's label inscribed "Hobberlins Limited Tailors, Toronto, Ont.". Inside the pocket, the label is named to "Dr. A. J. Kerwin" dated "22/7/41, No. S-4827". The tunic measures 47 cm across the shoulders x 77 cm in length, exhibiting wear along the edges of the shoulder flashes and in the collar, along with wear in the white rayon in the sleeves where the fabric butts the gray rayon lining, with separation in the gray rayon over the vented area at the rear.

It has four pockets, consisting of two side-entry pockets, one on either side at the waist on the front, and two top-entry pockets, one on either side on the seat, each of the pockets lined in a thick grayish-brown cotton, the waist with six belt loops sewn in place. Inside, the waistband is in the same thick grayish-brown cotton as that used for the pockets, with six black buttons sewn in place. The trousers measure 74 cm at the waist x 105 cm in length, exhibiting extensive wear on the waistband. 3. Side Cap: exterior is fabricated from grayish-blue wool blend, designed with fold down flaps on either side, the flaps secured in place via blue threading to the side walls of the cap. There are two rising peaks forming a valley between the two panels, the front with two brass buttons, each of which bears the RCAF crown and eagle insignia and holding the two ends of the flaps together. The left side exhibits a two-piece crown and eagle officer's insignia in fire gilt bronze, the two insignia secured in place and incorporating a triangular support plate under the interior lining.
