Canada, Commonwealth. A The Lorne Scots Beret
Finely textured, greenish-brown wool exterior, a 70.5 mm (w) x 76.5 mm (h) The Lorne Scots: Peel, Dufferin and Halton Regiment Glengarry Badge in white metal and surmounting a tartan rosette on the left side, the rosette designed with frayed edges on all four sides, with a large off-yellow feathered plume emerging from behind the rosette, the badge held in place via intact lugs and pin, topped by a forest green toorie, two eyelets at the rear with a light brown cotton ribbon tied in place. The interior is lined in dark brown cotton and features a 23 mm wide light brown cotton sweatband, the dome stamped in yellow ink "SIZE 7 1/8" above the Broad Arrow insignia and a faded date within a rectangular box, along with an indistinguishable maker's mark immediately to the left in black ink. The beret measures 220 mm (w) x 230 mm (h), with soiling evident throughout on the dark brown cotton lining, greening present on the glengarry badge and on the pin, the latter of which has offset onto the interior lining, the beret itself free of mothing. Very fine.
