A swagger stick made of lacquered rattan exterior with silver accents, the handle features a silver cap with the Royal Military College insignia, the silver tip presents a single pin cap on the side, the swagger stick measures 665mm in length, weighs 32.7 grams, slight curve in the rattan near tip, light wear on silver, very flexible.
Footnote: Swagger sticks were worn by uniformed men as a symbol of authority, derived from the vine staffed carried by Roman centurions as an emblem of office. This was a standard item for Canadian senior officers during the period of 1860-1940. Usage decreased largely in the middle of the 20th century.
