What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Softcover, perfect-bound, with collage photograph wrapping around from the front to the back cover, entitled "Wings: Canada & Great Britain 1913-1945", by Warren Carroll, First Edition, copyrighted by the author in 1981, ISBN 0-9690531-0-X. It is autographed by the author on the lead page, signed in blue ink "TO ERIC / Regards Warren Carroll". The book covers the embroidered and metal badges issued to the Royal Flying Corps, the Royal Naval Air Service, the Canadian Aviation Corps, the Royal Canadian Naval Air Service, the Canadian Air Force, the Royal Canadian Air Force, the Fleet Air Arm, the Royal Air Force, and the Armies of Great Britain and Canada between the years 1913 and 1945, complemented by pertinent historical notations. It begins with an Acknowledgements, followed by an Introduction, a Dedication and a Table of Contents. The book is composed of fourteen chapters: 1 - Royal Flying Corps 1912-1918; 2 - Royal Naval Air Service 1914-1918; 3 - Canadian Aviation Corps 1914-1915; 4 - Royal Canadian Flying Corps 1916; 5 - Royal Canadian Naval Air Service 1918; 6 - Canadian Air Force 1918-1920; 7 - Canadian Air Force 1920-1924; 8 - Royal Canadian Air Force 1924-1939 (including Prototype Sketches of the Early Observer Wing); 9 - Royal Canadian Air Force 1939-1945 (including Pilot's Wings, Aircrew Issues, The Double Wing Debate 1942, Prototype Sketches, Designs Submitted For Approval, Final Designs, Accepted Designs, Official Aircrew Issues - March 26, 1943, Curved Patterns, The W.O.G. It concludes with an Addendum, an Article entitled "For Collectors" and a Bibliography. The book contains 128 pages of text and black and white photographs of the various badges, printed in black ink, on a coated white paper stock, measuring 152 mm (w) x 228 mm (h) x 9 mm (d). It exhibits wear on the spine from active use, with slight discolouration on the edges of the pages, the pages within remaining pristine. A terrific resource book for both the collector and the historian. Very fine.
