In die-stamped silvered bronze, unmarked, measuring 72.5 mm (w) x 91.5 mm (h), all three lugs intact, contact marks evident on the numeral "38", better than very fine.
Footnote: The Dufferin Rifles of Canada originated in Brantford, Ontario on September 28, 1866 when the 38th Brant Battalion of Infantry was authorized to be formed. It was re-designated the 38th Brant Battalion of Infantry on November 30, 1866, the 38th Brant Battalion of Rifles on March 24, 1871, the 38th Brant Battalion or Dufferin Rifles on July 3, 1874, the 38th Battalion Dufferin Rifles of Canada on September 28, 1883, the 38th Regiment Dufferin Rifles of Canada on May 8, 1900, and The Dufferin Rifles of Canada on May 1, 1920. On December 15, 1936, it was amalgamated with The Haldimand Rifles and C Company of the 3rd Machine Gun Battalion, Canadian Machine Gun Company.
