Upper fabricated from black wool, with fold down flaps, the flaps trimmed in a strip of thatched gold-coloured bullion wire and supported by a hook and eye system, two rising peaks forming a valley between the two panels and trimmed in red piping, the left side with two holes where a Canadian Field Artillery cap badge once resided, two bronze buttons bearing the Canada Militia beaver and wreath insignia linking the two fold down flaps together at the front, the interior lined in gray "artificial silk" (rayon), with traces remaining of an owner's or manufacturer's label that once resided on the left side, complemented by a 25 mm dark brown faux fur sweatband. The cap measures 300 mm (w) x 115 mm (h), without interruptions in the fabrics and is free of mothing. Extremely fine.
