A very well-preserved edition of "The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders of Canada (Princess Louise's) 1928-1953", complied by Officers of the Regiment and edited by Lieutenant-Colonel H.M. Jackson, M.B.E., E.D. It is constructed of a heavy card stock binding with a green linen cloth exterior, the front cover printed in red with the title "The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders of Canada (Princess Louise's) 1928-1953" positioned above the regimental insignia. It features a comprehensive history of The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders of Canada (Princess Louise's) between the years 1928 and 1953, highlighting the regiment's involvement during the Second World War. It contains eleven chapters (I - From 1929-1939; II - Canada and Jamaica; III - The United Kingdom; IV - Falaise; V - Pursuit to the Maas; VI - Winter Quarters; VII - The Hockwald; VIII - Across the Rhine; IX - Canada via Berlin; X - The 2nd (Reserve) Battalion; XI - Post-War Reorganization), followed by an Appendices. The book consists of 418 pages printed in black ink on an off-white paper stock, with numerous line drawing battle maps, plus black and white photograph plates inserted at nine intervals throughout the book. It was published by the Industrial School for the Deaf of Montreal in 1953 and measures 155 mm (w) x 237 mm (h) x 32 mm (d). Extremely fine condition.
