A minimum deposit of 30% of the total price of your order including all applicable taxes and Buyer’s Premium, is due at the time of initial purchase. The total price of your order must be paid within three months from the date of original purchase.

You may make additional payments at any time by accessing the Layaway section in your account or by calling our office and submitting payment details.

Your contract will be automatically cancelled and ordered merchandise will be returned to inventory if full payment is not submitted by the three (3) month deadline.

What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Buyer's Premium

All bids are subject to a Buyer's Premium which is in addition to the placed successful bid. The following rate of Buyer's Premium will be added to the Hammer Price of each Lot that you purchase:

Hardcover, navy blue cloth cover, the YMCA insignia on the front cover and the text on the spine in a gold-coloured ink, entitled "The Canadian Y.M.C.A. in World War II", by Alan M. Hurst, published by the National War Service Committee of The National Council of Young Men's Christian Associations of Canada, printed by Goodfellow Printing Co. Ltd. in 1950. The book documents the extent and diversity of the work directed by the Committee during the war, having utilized YMCA correspondence, routine reports, special reports and general files, along with other outside sources. The inside front cover has a map showing all Canadian YMCAs in 1939 (Canada only), while the inside back cover has a composite map showing all places where Canadian Y.M.C.A. operated during the war (in Canada, Europe and China as of 1945). The frontispiece has a photograph of George Porteous, MBE, YMCA Supervisor with the Winnipeg Grenadiers, Prisoner of War in Hong Kong, 1941-1945. The book is dedicated "To All those Citizens of the World who gave their lives for Peace with Freedom" and begins with an Acknowledgements, followed by a Foreword, a Table of Contents, plus a Preface and Summary. It is divided into six Parts: Part I - The Beginnings; Part II - Personnel (A. Employed Staff; B. Military Helpers; C. Civilian Volunteers; D. Status of Supervisors); Part III - Program (A. The book contains 400 pages of text, along withy nine charts/graphs and nine maps, printed in black ink on an off-white paper stock, with numerous black and white photo plates covering various subjects inserted in eighteen locations throughout the book, printed in black ink on a semi-gloss paper stock, measuring 155 mm (w) x 235 mm (h) x 40 mm (d). It exhibits light wear and spotting on the cover, with a nip on the top edge of the front cover, however, the pages themselves remain unaffected. Better than very fine.
