What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

1. Victorian St. Catherine's Battery of Artillery Garrison Helmet Plate: in die-stamped brass, unmarked, measuring 80.8 mm (w) x 98.5 mm (h), two of three lugs intact, the third lug having broken off. 
2. First War Royal Montreal Regiment Cap Badge: in die-stamped patinated copper, voided, unmarked, measuring 27.5 mm (w) x 45.5 mm (h), both lugs and pin intact. 
3. Royal Canadian Artillery Tie Clip: insignia in bronze gilt with red, light blue and dark blue enamels, unmarked, measuring 25 mm (w) x 21.5 mm (h), mounted to a 46.7 mm long bar with pinback, chipping and loss evident in the dark blue enamels on the ribbon banner. 
4. British Ministry of Munitions (MoM) First War War Munition Volunteer Badge with King's Crown: in fire gilt bronze, maker marked "J.R. GAUNT & SON Ltd LONDON" and marked "WARRANTED FIRE GILT" on the reverse, measuring 31.5 mm (w) x 44 mm (h), numbered "69476" on the button hole attachment, traces of gilt remains.
