All manuals & First War photo album are to MC Recipient Vernon. R. Davis; Davis, born 1890 in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, lived in Franklin Manitoba as a student prior to enlisting with the CEF in March 1916. Enlisting with the 196th Western Univerities Battalion, Davis would survive the war as a Lieutenant in the 1st Battalion Machine Gun Corps and would recieve the Military Cross on the occasion of the Kings Birthday in 1919. Davis belongings here include; A personal photo album containing 44 photos exhibiting activities on the both home front and overseas. It appears that Lt. Davis established a military career following the First War as the lot also includes manuals; Armoured Car Training 1931, Feild Service Regulations 1935, Tank Training 1930, Gun Drill for 4.5 Howitzer 1928, Inantry Section Leading 1938, Manual of Ceremonial 1935, and a Field Service Pocket Book 1940; all are named to Capt. V.R.Davis, M.C. Manuals are fair to good/fine. An interesting lot and an unresearch officer of the First War.
