Colonial Auxiliary Forces Officers' Decoration - George V, silver-gilt, officially engraved "Capt. & Major W. BAILLIE C.A.M.C." on the reverse, very crisp detail, 35 mm x 64.8 mm, on original ribbon with pinback hanger, extremely fine. In its hardshelled case of issue, pebbled exterior, recessed velvet medal bed, case near extremely fine. Footnote: In 1918, Captain/Major Baillie was one of three lecturers that were attached to the Army Medical Corps and through their instruction, the Ward Aides were taught hospital etiquette and their relations with the medical branch, thereby establishing the proper relation before the women entered the hospitals.
