A Canadian Chief Petty Officer's Visor Cap and Officer's Beret

Visor cap has a black wool upper, with a 40 mm wide black thatched nylon-cotton blend band around the circumference, and is designed with a traditional high peak. There is a 41 mm x 64.3 mm silvered and gilt metal Chief Petty Officer's cap badge on the front, with maroon felt in the void of the King's crown and touches of red, green and blue enamels in the base of the crown, the cap badge on a black wool base with a black leather backer that is maker marked with a "WILLIAM SCULLY LIMITED MANUFACTURERS OF MILITARY EQUIPMENT UNIVERSITY ST. MONTREAL CANADA" label, the cap badge sewn in place upon the nylon-cotton blend band. Two-piece black patent leather chin strap rests upon the visor housing length adjustment buckles on either side, the straps slotted and wrapped around black nylon covered magnetic metal buttons on either side. There are two black finished magnetic metal ventilation eyelets on either side. The vulcanfibre visor has a smooth black upper and has a forest green synthetic patterned underside. The sidewalls on the inside are lined in steel blue rayon, while the dome is lined in black rayon with concentric circular stitching and stamped in white ink "NAVAL". The light brown leather sweatband, stamped in black ink with a large "W" inside a circle and size stamped "6 5/8" on the left side, the ends meeting at the rear, with a white bow-tied ribbon sewn in place at the junction of the ends. The cap measures 240 mm x 255 mm x 135 mm in height overall, exhibiting light crazing on the black vulcanfibre visor, along with separation of the leather sweatband from the body of the cap beginning at the visor point on the left side and extending to the right of centre point at the rear, with light contact marks on the sweatband itself. Beret has a black wool upper, with a 50 mm x 58.5 mm gilt metal officer's cap badge on the left side, the maroon felt in the void of the Queen's crown and touches of red, green and blue enamels in the base of the crown, the cap badge held in place on the underside by intact lugs and pin. There are two black finished non-magnetic metal ventilation eyelets on the right side, plus a 10 mm wide black ribbed nylon border along the open end housing a black drawstring, with the two ends of the drawstring tied in a knot and the ends dangling at the rear. The inside is lined in black cotton, with a rectangular pad sewn in place in the lining on the underside of the cap badge, number stamped in white ink "1231" beside the pin, black leather support patch stitched in place behind the eyelets, maker mark "KANGOL WEAR LIMITED" stamped in white ink in the dome. The beret measures 215 mm x 250 mm, exhibiting gilt wear on the cap badge and wear in the nylon on the black ribbed border housing the drawstring. As worn. (C:152)
