What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Buyer's Premium

All bids are subject to a Buyer's Premium which is in addition to the placed successful bid. The following rate of Buyer's Premium will be added to the Hammer Price of each Lot that you purchase:

Twenty-Two Percent (22%) of the Hammer Price

A Scarce Pair of First War CEF Officer's Rubber Trench Boots

A Scarce Pair of First War CEF Officer's Rubber Trench Boots - These boots are fabricated from a reddish-brown rubber and have never been re-soled, the durable heels in solid rubber, maker marked "DOMINION RUBBER CO. LIMITED" with the company's beaver insignia and size marked "10" on the sole. The underlying stitching of the boots is entirely sealed in rubber, allowing for a fully, water-tight seal. The top opening on both have 17 mm wide tie straps, each slotted at the far end for uniform attachment. The inside has two olive green embroidered pull-on straps sewn on either side, each in a herringbone pattern, both boots lined in a brownish-green felt, standing approximately 445 mm in height and measuring 95 mm x 295 mm at the base. They have experienced active wear, exhibiting the expected scuffing and contact marks, with age soiling and dried mold stains present on the lower portions, with a very small hole in the sole of the left boot . A terrific and scarce First World War collectible, in very fine condition.   Footnote: These rubber boots were privately purchased by officers in the Canadian Expeditionary Force, to aid them in fighting the elements and trenches of warfare in the European theatre. Keeping the feet dry and avoiding the dreaded "trench foot" was a high priority. There are no Canadian Broad Arrow stamps, due to the fact that they were not "official issue". These boots are known to have been produced and worn by officers but are rarely, if ever, in the marketplace.
