A WWI 26th Infantry Battalion "New Brunswick Battalion" Reunion Armband - Red square sewn above a navy blue wool rectangle with "26" screen-printed in red, the navy blue representative of the 2nd Canadian Division, on an brownish-green wool armband, 87 mm x 415 mm, mothing evident on the left end, near extremely fine. (C:4) Footnote: The Battalion was raised in New Brunswick with mobilization headquarters at Saint John under the authority of G.O. 36, March 15, 1915. The Battalion sailed June 13, 1915 with a strength of 42 officers and 1,108 other ranks under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel J.L. McAvity. The Battalion served in France and Belgium with the 5th Infantry Brigade, 2nd Canadian Division. It was disbanded on September 15, 1920.
