Victoria Era Miniatures to Lieutenant-Colonel A.L. Jarvis -  Imperial Service Order, Edward VII (silver gilt and enamels, 21.8 mm x 24.7 mm); Canada General Service Medal, 1 Clasp - FENIAN RAID 1870 (silver, engraved "LT. COL. A.L. JARVIS." on the edge, 17.5 mm); Colonial Auxiliary Forces Officers' Decoration, Edward VII (silver gilt, 14.8 mm x 26.8 mm); and Colonial Auxiliary Forces Long Service Medal, Victoria (silver, 17.8 mm). Mounted to a suspension with swing bar pinback, as worn by the veteran, original ribbons, dark patinas, extremely fine.   Footnote: Arthur Leonard Jarvis was born on June 17, 1852 in Toronto, Ontario. He entered service in 1868 and was a bugler with the Ottawa Garrison Artillery during the 1870 Fenian Raids. He became the Secretary of the Department of Agriculture in 1896, and became an Assistant Deputy Minister in 1908. His grandfather was an officer with General Sir Isaac Brock at the Battle of Queenston Heights. Awarded the Long Service Medal by General Order 9 in 1902. Awarded the Officers’ Decoration by General Order 157 in 1908. A.L.F. Jarvis was a very young bugler with the Ottawa Garrison Artillery when he was awarded his CGSM with the Fenian Raid 1870 clasp and is listed on page 226 of the "Canada General Service Medal Roll, 1866-70" by John Thyen.
