Layaway Policy

eMedals INC. is pleased to offer flexible layaway services to all clients. Our layaway program offers the opportunity for clients to make payments on eligible items over a period of three (3) months.

Your contract will be automatically cancelled and ordered merchandise will be returned to inventory if full payment is not submitted by the three (3) month deadline.

What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Buyer's Premium

All bids are subject to a Buyer's Premium which is in addition to the placed successful bid. The following rate of Buyer's Premium will be added to the Hammer Price of each Lot that you purchase:

A Flask to the 7th Canadian (McGill) Siege Battery CEF - Plated, weighing 529 grams, marked "MADE IN ENGLAND", maker marked "JAMES DIXON & SONS SHEFFIELD", marked with a "U" over a left-facing trumpet and banner insignia identifying production by Dixon (a fundamental element to prevent mistakes with the marks "JC & S" used by another Sheffield manufacture, James Deakin & Sons) and marked "73" over "24ozs" on the bottom, engraved with the 7th Canadian (McGill) Siege Battery insignia above the inscription "Major W.E. Hume . R.C.A.M.C. / from his comrades of / 7th Can. (McGill). Siege Battery C.E.F. / Feb. 17th 1940" in running script on the front, cork liner on the underside of the screw cap, 115 mm x 245 mm x 34 mm, contact marks and dents from active use, very fine Footnote: William Edward Hume was born on October 24, 1897 in Leeds, Megantic County, Quebec. He was a resident of Montreal, Quebec, when he signed his Attestation Paper as a Cadet (1261649) with No. 6 (McGill) Overseas Battery, Siege Artillery, CEF, on May 6, 1916 in Montreal, at the age of 18, naming his next-of-kin as his father, Dr. G.S. Hume of Sherbrooke, Quebec, stating that he belonged to an Active Militia (the 22nd Sherbrooke Battery), that he had previous military service (one month with the 53rd Sherbrooke Regiment and two months with the 22nd Sherbrooke Battery), that he was not married and that his trade was that of Student. The 6th Canadian Siege Battery recruited in the Montreal area in 1916 and were re-named the 7th Canadian Siege Battery when they re-organized in England. Hume later rose to the rank of Major with the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps. In early 1940, his former comrades from the 7th Canadian (McGill) Siege Battery recognized his accomplishments by giving him this flask. By 1941, he had attained the rank of Colonel and was awarded the Efficiency Decoration. Hume was awarded the Officer of the Military Division of the Order of the British Empire effective March 17, 1945, as mentioned in the Supplement to the London Gazette 37038 of Tuesday, April 17, 1945, on Thursday, April 19, 1945, page 2063.
