Canada, Dominion. A Fenian Raid/Civil War Period Pendant
In gold-coloured metal, the case similar to that used on a pocket watch, the exterior front cover engraved with a floral design, backed by emanating rays and framed within a square, with floral motifs along all four sides of the square, the exterior back cover engraved with a similar design but the flower used in the centre on the front cover has been substituted with a ribbon banner engraved with the initials "F.A.C.", the inside back cover with a grayish-tinted black and white photograph under a circular glass panel, possibly bearing the image of Fenian Raid period or Civil War soldier, the inside front cover with the glass panel in place, without a photograph and marked "PATENT" on the frame, measuring 45.5 mm (w) x 54.5 mm (h) inclusive of its laterally-pierced ball suspension, with ring, exhibiting a few tiny dents, fine.
