WWI Canadian Vimy Photograph Album

WWI Canadian Vimy Photograph Album - Containing 44 Original Photographs - Importantly, the first photo of the lot is that of the initial field grave of Sergeant John William Peter Melvin - who was killed April 7th 1917, likely by enemy bombardment, in the Vimy section while with the 2nd Canadian Railway Troops preparing for the Vimy assult. The remaining 43 Canadian photographs depict scenes in Canada in fresh uniforms, aboard ship heading overseas, training and camping in England, rare scenes at the frontlines. The scenes are both casual and formal. Also included: 1 silk Postcard, 16 French Picture Postcards. Overall a fantastic WWI Canadian album which are becoming quite rare.
