What's a max bid?

The QSA & Fine Portrait of Private J.Adams DOW - CAPE COLONY (7013 Pte J. ADAMS, Rl CANDN: REGt). Dark patina, light contact, near extremely fine. Accompanied by a colourized black and white portrait of Adams in uniform (framed, under glass, 50 x 60 cm) and assorted research papers, including photocopies of his grave marker in Jacobsdal, South Africa and two photos of Adamsin uniform. John Adams was with the Manitoba Dragoons when he enlisted for service in the Boer War with the Royal Canadian Regiment Infantry. He was with "A" Company in the South African theatre when wounded at Paardeberg and as a result, subsequently took sick and eventually died, on March 1, 1900 at Jacobsdal, of Enteric Fever. He is buried in the Jacobsdal Garden of Remembrance. Of the Canadians who went to South Africa, 89 were killed in action, 135 died of disease, and 252 were wounded.
