WWI 203rd Infantry Battalion "Winnipeg Rifles" Cap Badge - Pickled brass, voided, maker marked "BIRKS 1916" on the reverse, 40.6 mm x 46.7 mm, intact lugs, light contact, near extremely fine.Footnote: The Battalion was raised and mobilized in Winnipeg, under the authority of G.O. 69, July 15, 1916. They sailed October 28, 1916 under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel J.E. Hansford with a strength of 32 officers and 957 other ranks. In England, the Battalion was absorbed into the 18th Reserve Battalion. It was disbanded on September 15, 1920.
