WWI 214th Infantry Battalion "Saskatchewan Battalion" Cap Badge - Pickled copper, maker marked "DINGWALL" on the reverse, 37 mm x 44.5 mm, intact lugs and pin, extremely fine.Footnote: The Battalion was raised in Saskatchewan with mobilization headquarters at Wadena under the authority of G.O. 69, July 15, 1916. The Battalion sailed April 18, 1917 under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel J.H. Hearn with a strength of 20 officers and 595 other ranks. In England, the Battalion was absorbed into the 15th Reserve Battalion. It was disbanded September 15, 1920.
