WWI 24th Infantry Battalion "Victoria Rifles" Cap Badge - Blackened copper, unmarked, 35.5 mm x 38.6 mm, intact lugs, extremely fine. Footnote: The Battalion was raised and mobilized in Montreal, Quebec under the authority of G.O. 36, March 15, 1915. The Battalion sailed September 15, 1915 with a strength of 42 officers and 1,082 other ranks under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel J.A. Gunn. The Battalion served in France and Belgium with the 5th Infantry Brigade, 2nd Canadian Division. It was disbanded on September 15, 1920.
