WWI British War Medal to the Canadian Railway Troops - (628227 SPR. D.M. DAY. C.R.T.). Naming is officially impressed. Dark patina, light contact and surface wear, better than very fine.Footnote: Dalton McCarthy Day was born on April 19, 1897 in Callander, Ontario. He signed his Attestation Paper with the 159th Infantry Battalion "1st Algonquin Battalion" on September 8, 1915 in North Bay, Ontario, at the age of 18, the date later crossed out and changed to February 11, 1916, naming his next-of-kin as his father, Herbert Day of North Bay, stating that he had been with an active militia (the 97th Regiment), that he was not married and that his trade was that of Boilermaker. He was later transferred to the Canadian Railway Troops.
