Bronze, marked "BRONZE" on the edge, obverse illustrating the Statue of Liberty framed by Allied flags on either side, an eagle below standing upon a ribbon banner inscribed E Pluribus Unum, surrounded by the inscription "THE SAVIOURS OF THE LIBERTY OF THE WORLD 1919", reverse illustrating left-facing American soldiers with the American flag, marching past the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, framed by branches of laurel leaves and oak leaves with acorns, engraver marked "RENE ROBERT" and "OUTHWAITE Sc", 45 mm, extremely fine. In its circular case of issue, emboss stamped "U.S.A. COMMEMORATIVE MEDAL OF THE VICTORY 1919" in gold ink over its original French embossed stamping of a rooster and "MEDAILLE COMMEMORATIVE DE LA VICTOIRE 1919" on the lid, marked on the inside lid of the base "BOITE BREVETEE S.G.D.G.", light contact and surface wear, case near extremely fine.
