Box is Indian-made, fabricated from teak wood, the exterior incorporating a hand-carved intricate floral design carved into the top of the lid, as well as into all for sides of both the lid and the base, the top of the lid with a plain oval area bearing a 43 mm (w) x 55 mm (h) China-Burma-India Theater shield in silvered metal and copper embedded in the center, the top of the shield in silvered metal and painted in black, representing the blue field of the actual shield, with the silvered metal exposed areas featuring the white Sun and Star insignia of the original shield, the two white stripes of the shield in two strips of silvered metal, the three red stripes of the shield in three strips of copper. The interior comes with a raised teak liner in the base, that rises slightly above the lip, dual-hinged, measuring 150 mm in width x 99 mm in depth x 57 mm in height. Accompanied by a China-Burma-India Lapel Badge (in silver with red and white enamels, marked "SILVER" and maker marked "R.T. & Co." on the reverse, measuring 21.5 mm (w) x 27.3 mm (h), vertical pinback, intact enamels). Extremely fine.
