First badge in 14K Gold with enamels, the obverse with red and blue enamels, the reverse with red and white enamels, measuring 22.8 mm (w) x 23.8 mm (h), suspended from a 39.5 mm (w) x 15.5 mm (h) hanger bearing a silver eagle, mounted to a base in bronze gilt with blue enamels plus horizontal pinback. Second badge in 14K Gold with red, white and blue enamels, marked "14K" (Gold) on the reverse, measuring 24.8 mm (w) x 25.5 mm (h), suspended from a 24.3 mm (w) x 9 mm (h) 14K Gold hanger, marked "14K" along with a horizontal pinback on the reverse. Third badge in 14K Gold with blue and white enamels, measuring 23.5 mm (w) x 22.3 mm (h), vertical pinback. Fourth badge in 14K Gold with red, white and blue enamels, hand engraved "Gus Kuhrash 1838-1916" on the reverse, measuring 32.7 mm (w) x 32 mm (h), horizontal pinback. All four badges have engraved images and intact enamels. Extremely fine.
Footnote: In regards to the fourth badge, C. August "Gus" Kuhrash was born in 1836 and died on July 8, 1916. His grave marker in Oakwood Cemetery in Berlin, Green Lake County, Wisconsin, Plot: 12-9-4, indicates that he served with Company K, 27th Connecticut Infantry.
