An 1898 New York State Oneida County Spanish-American War Medal; Named
Bronze, obverse illustrating the Armory in Utica, New York, surrounded by the inscription "PRESENTED BY THE ONEIDA COUNTY WAR COMMITTEE", reverse inscribed "IN RECOGNITION OF PATRIOTIC SERVICE DURING THE WAR BETWEEN THE UNITED STATES AND SPAIN 1898" and engraved in running script to "R.J. Skinner, Co. E. 1st N.Y. Vol." inside an open-ended wreath of laurel leaves, 37.5 mm, original tri-color ribbon, suspended from a pinback hanger illustrating a spread-winged eagle flanked by seven stars on the left and six stars on the right, oxidation spot on the reverse, very light contact, near extremely fine.
