What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

John A. Logan Camp Medal 1891 (Gold, engraved in running script "Captain H. Rosenhaupt" on the pinback hanger and "from John A Logan Camp No 2 S.V. Division Washington 1891" on the medal, the medal in the shape of a shield, the two joined together by two five-link chains, the rims on both the shield and the hanger engraved in a fine bead, 26.2 mm x 59 mm inclusive of the hanger, 8.4 grams); Grand Army of the Republic 26th Annual Encampment Medal 1892 (held in Washington, D.C. from September 20 to 23, 1892: silver, obverse illustrating the right-facing bust of President George Washington, surrounded by the inscription "26th ANNUAL ENCAMPMENT G.A.R." and inscribed "WASHINGTON SEPT. 20 TO 23. 1892." below, reverse illustrating the insignia of the Grand Army of the Republic, 35.5 mm, on an original yellow ribbon with a red, white and blue embroidered GAR monogram); and Sons of Union Veterans Medal 1893 (three-piece construction, silver and enamels with a small red stone, engraved in running script "Presented by Wash.
