Bronze, 44 mm x 46.2 mm, original lightly soiled American flag ribbon, suspended from a 20.8 mm x 39.3 mm bronze eagle, crossed cannons and cannonballs insignia with pinback, marked "PAT. MAY 4. 1886. / JUNE 22. 1886" with pot suspended over a campfire insignia on the reverse, green oxidation evident on the reverse of the medal, near extremely fine. In its cardboard box of issue, with paper wrapper, weakened hinge area, scuffed exterior, box fine. Accompanied by an Application for Membership in the Grand Army of the Republic (for Private Byron B. Floyd, 30th Regiment, Massachusetts Volunteers, dated 1894, 217 mm x 355 mm, folds up to 902 mm x 217 mm); a Large Envelope (image of the Grand Army of the Republic Veteran's Cross with the inscriptions "After 10 days return to Major How Post, 47, G. A. R." above and "HAVERHILL, MASS." below in black ink, along with two inscriptions in pencil on the front panel, 100 mm x 226 mm); and a Small Envelope (image of an eagle with flag insignia in red and blue inks on the front panel, 77 mm x 135 mm).
