What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

WWI American Army Purple Heart Group - Purple Heart (bronze gilt and enamels, engraved "CLARENCE C. JOHNSON" in capitals on the reverse, 34.5 mm x 42.8 mm); Mexican Border Service Medal (bronze, numbered "34723" on the rim, 31.8 mm); WWI Victory Medal, 6 Clasps - MEUSE-ARGONNE, ST. MIHIEL, CHAMPAGNE-MARNE, AISNE-MARNE, AISNE, DEFENSIVE SECTOR (bronze gilt, 36.2 mm); and Army of Occupation of Germany Medal (bronze gilt, 32.2 mm). Each with original ribbons and brooch pinbacks, light contact, green oxidation on the PH, gilt wear evident on the AOGM, better than very fine. Accompanied by four reproduction photographs (two of Johnson in uniform; one of he and his wife along with their young son, Charles; and one of his son, Charles, in uniform - all with personal notes on their reverses).
