United States. An Ancient & Honorable Artillery Company of Boston Medal for the Visit of the Honorable Artillery Company of London 1903
In solid bronze, obverse illustrating a crowned woman in flowing robes, her right arm extended and holding a laurel branch, her left hand resting upon a disk bearing the Boston skyline and inscribed "BOSTON 1630", with an artillery piece behind the disk, a steamship on the water at the far left, the City of London coat-of-arms at the lower left, a ribbon banner inscribed "SALVE", flanked by two smaller ribbon banners, "LONDON" above and "BOSTON" below, maker marked "B.P. & CO. BOSTON", reverse inscribed "VISIT OF THE HONOVRABLE ARTILLERY COMPANY OF LONDON MDCCCCIII" in the center, the British coat-of-arms above and the American coat-of-arms at the lower right, surrounded by the inscription "TO THE ANCIENT AND HONORABLE ARTILLERY COMPANY OF MASSACHUSETTS", with crossed cannons at the base, measuring 38 mm in diameter, green oxidation spotting evident on the reverse, light contact, original ribbon with brooch pinback, better than very fine.
