What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

An American D-Day Gallantry & Casualty Group - Silver Star (JOHN J. COOPER); Bronze Star; Purple Heart (JOHN J. COOPER) with Oak Leaf Cluster; Army Good Conduct Medal; American Campaign Medal; European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with Arrowhead and Five Bronze Battle Stars; World War II Victory Medal; Army of Occupation Medal with GERMANY Bar; and National Defense Service Medal. Naming is officially engraved on the Silver Star and Purple Heart. Unmounted, original ribbons, near mint. Accompanied by a Combat Infantryman Badge (sterling silver and blue enamels, marked "STERLING" on the reverse, 26 mm x 76.3 mm); 4th Infantry Division Patch (two-colour embroidery, 74 mm x 74 mm, residue on the reverse from previous board mounting); Corporal Chevrons (green embroidery on navy blue cotton, 77 mm x 82 mm) and a photograph of Cooper being presented one of his medals (black and white, gloss finish, U.S. Army Signal Corps insignia in the lower right corner, 103 mm x 126 mm). Footnote: John J. Cooper served with the 359th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division and was part of the D-Day invasion at Utah Beach on June 6, 1944 in Normandy, France. The Oak Leaf Cluster on his Purple Heart is indicative of a second wound, while the Arrowhead and Five Bronze Battle Stars on his European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal are for his involvement on D-Day.
