Instituted 26 April 1869. Type I. A maltese cross constructed of nickel metal, the obverse centre bearing the inscription “U.S.N” (United States Navy) circumscribed with “FIDELITY ZEAL OBEDIENCE”, the reverse bears the name “Ino Robertson”, measuring 31.71 mm (w) x 31.95 mm (h), on a red, white and blue striped ribbon (accompanied by replacement ribbon), very fine.
