What's a max bid?

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

United States. Two American Society Medals, c. 1900

United States. A Society of the American Wars of the United States Membership Badge in Gold, c.1905. In 14K Gold (tested) with red, white, blue and green enamels, the obverse presents a six point white and blue enamel star with a green enamel wreath with a small shield in each quadrant, the centerpiece presents the American Seal on a red enamel field surrounded by the inscription VICERUNT VT VIVAMUS, the reverse is engraved with each war date on the shields, and the center is engraved H.S. Jr. 952, the badge is on an incorrect eagle suspension composed of bronze, measures 33.46mm (w) x 52.61mm (h – including suspension), weighs 25.7 grams (including ribbon), on original ribbon displaying heavy wear, small cracks to enamel, blue enamel chipped at 12 o’clock, overall near very fine condition.

United States. A Sons of Veterans War Service Medal, c. 1900. An early edition, in bronze, a Maltese cross with four arrows in each quadrant, the obverse center presents wreath with a blue enamelled field with the inscription FILII VETERANORUM MDCCCLXXXI surrounding the USA cypher, the reverse presents the embossed inscription SONS OF VETERANS U.S.A. WAR SERVICES and is numbered with an engraved 25, measures 32.26mm (w) x 36.15mm (h – including integral ring), weighs 17.3 grams (including ribbon), worn on original ribbon with pinback reverse, dark patina, edge bruising, cast errors visible on reverse, overall better than fine condition.
