A collection to family Burri, consisting of: two dimit (honourary withdrawal or resignation) certificates from Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem (214x139mm, near very fine to near extremely fine); two dimit certificates from Order of the Eastern Star (179x211mm, very fine to better than very fine); a letter (209x295mm, near extremely fine) with envelope (161x114mm, better than very fine).
The documents of the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem are dated to Zanesville, Ohio on January 2nd, 1916 and state that Edward and Ethel Burri are at their own request dismissed from the chapter and are being recommended as worthy applicants for membership in any other chapter. The Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem is a charitable and religious Freemason fraternity That was established in 1894.
The documents of the Order of the Eastern Star are dated to Dresden, Ohio on August 15, 1922 and state that Edward and Ethel Burri are at their own request dismissed from the chapter, which they had joined in 1911. The Order of the Eastern Star is a Masonic appendant body, founded in 1850.
The letter was sent by H. Oehrmann from Berlin, Germany to Evelyn Burri in Cleveland, Ohio on November 11, 1941. It has been opened and reviewed by the Wehrmacht.
