AGEE" on the reverse, measuring 37 mm (w) x 35.3 mm (h), original ribbon with brooch pinback); Army Commendation Medal (in bronze, measuring 35.3 mm (w) x 40.5 mm (h), original ribbon with brooch pinback); American Defense Service Medal (in bronze, measuring 32 mm in diameter, original ribbon with brooch pinback); American Campaign Medal (in bronze, measuring 31.5 mm in diameter, lightly worn original ribbon with brooch pinback); World War II Victory Medal (in bronze, measuring 35.8 mm in diameter, original ribbon with brooch pinback); and Army of Occupation Medal (in bronze, measuring 33.2 mm in diameter, original ribbon with brooch pinback). Accompanied by three Ribbon Bars: Bronze Star Medal (35.5 mm (w) x 11 mm (h)); Army Commendation Medal, American Defense Service Medal and European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with five bronze stars (109 mm (w) x 10.7 mm (h)); and American Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal (107 mm (w) x 10.7 mm (h); each with dual pushpin points); a pair of Lieutenant Colonel's Collar Insignia (in frosted sterling silver, measuring 27 mm (w) x 28.3 mm (h) each, vertical pinbacks); a U.S. Army Collar Insignia (in brass, maker marked "J.R. GAUNT LONDON" on the reverse, measuring 23.7 mm (w) x 12.3 mm (h) each, horizontal pinbacks); and an Infantry Branch Insignia (in bronze gilt, measuring 37.3 mm (w) x 19 mm (h), dual push pin points). Footnote: Young Evans Agee, Jr. was born on July 25, 1917, the son of Young Evans Agee, Sr. and Frances Hattie (Jett) Agee. In the rank of Major, he served in the United States Army before the Second World War and throughout the war, participating in five campaigns and received the Bronze Star Medal for bravery in the field. For his Second World War service, he was awarded the American Defense Service Medal, the American Campaign Medal, the World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal. Agee was also awarded the Army Commendation Medal and the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with five bronze stars but the latter medal has since been lost to time. He later served in the Korean War and achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Young Evans Agee, Jr. died on August 4, 1996 in Liberty, Clay County, Missouri, at the age of 79 and is buried next to his wife, Helen F. Agee (January 2, 1922 - January 31, 1998) in Glenridge Cemetery in Liberty, Clay County, Missouri. The items presented here are from his estate and are correct to the period.
