LZ 126 (later the ZR-3 USS Los Angeles) Postcard 1928 - Colourized postcard entitled "Julius Schrag : Das Haus des Fischers.", stamped in blue ink "Mit Luftschiff Z. R. 3" in an oval with a "Mit Luftpost" label to the left, dual postmarked August 25, 1924 in Munich, Germany, one German stamp, addressed to "Adolf Buhler, 1272 North Fife Street, Philadelphia, Pa. Nord Amerika" with a personalized message in ink to the left, on card stock, 90 mm x 140 mm, horizontally creased, better than fine. Footnote: The Zeppelin LZ 126, later the ZR-3 USS Los Angeles in the service of the U.S. Navy, was an airship in the years 1923 to 1924 in Friedrichshafen built and nicknamed "America airship" or "Reparationsluftschiff" in Germany. The USS Los Angeles, by far was the most successful of the United States Navy’s rigid airships, built in Germany by the Zeppelin Company. Designated ZR-3 (Zeppelin Rigid number 3) by the United States Navy, the ship was constructed as the LZ-126 (Luftschiff Zeppelin number 126; the 126th design produced by the Zeppelin Company) ans was received by the US Navy in November 1924.
