Upper composed of a bright red silk field, with silver bullion wire throughout in the various insignia, white cotton backer, bearing the China Burma India Theater insignia in the center with red and blue embroidered fields in the shield, the shield flanked by wings on either side, inscribed "U.S.A." above, "CHINA" to the left, "BURMA" to the right and "1944" below, with a map of India inscribed "INDIA" below the date, branches of leafing in all four corners, all four edges trimmed in navy blue threading and bands of silvered fringe, measuring 425 mm (w) x 430 mm (h), soiling evident on the white cotton backer, without interruptions in the fabrics, near extremely fine.
