Upper composed of a bright ultramarine blue silk field, with silver bullion wire throughout in the various insignia, white cotton backer, bearing the China Burma India Theater insignia in the center with red and blue embroidered fields in the shield, the shield flanked by wings on either side, inscribed "U.S.A." above, "CHINA" to the left, "BURMA" to the right and "1945" below, with a map of India inscribed "INDIA" below the date, branches of leafing in all four corners, all four edges trimmed in salmon-coloured threading and bands of silvered fringe, measuring 440 mm (w) x 420 mm (h), small break in the bullion wire beaded trim on the shield, otherwise without interruptions in the fabrics, near extremely fine.
