United States. A M1911 .45 Pistol Holster, by Perkins-Campbell Co.
A United States Army-issued holster for a M1911 .45 Pistol, constructed of multiple pieces of brown leather and securely held together by rows of heavy hand-stitched threading. The body features an integrated top flap bearing two eyelets, in turn meeting a bronze catch stitched into the exterior. The reverse of the exterior features two reinforced slits for belt attachment, topped by dual bronze hooks. Embossed onto the obverse of the exterior are raised initials “US”, within an oval ring. The reverse of the exterior bears an embossed maker’s mark of “PERKINS CAMPBELL 1917 J.M.”. The interior of the holster presents plain. It measures 135 mm (w) x 265 mm (h). Material fatigue consistent with age and field use is evident to the leather, with some oxidation of the bronze elements also apparent. It is in an overall very fine condition.
