United States. A Military Brass Bugle
Fabricated from brass, the mouthpiece independent of the receiver on the mouthpipe, with a loop affixed to the mouthpiece that is attached to a multi-link brass chain, itself connected to a ring appearing on the side of the smaller tube of the bugle. The body of the bugle is composed of two tubes, a larger one fitted to a bell tube and finished with large bell at one end, the large tube connected to a smaller tube via a 32 mm long coupling, both the larger and small tubes are wrapped in a 5 mm wide carob brown cord, with both ends of the cord finished with very large tassels. The bugle weighs .5 kilogram and measures 115 mm at the mouth of the bell x 290 mm in length x 160 mm in height, exhibiting dents along the tubing from active use, with a very pronounced one on the large tube at the mouthpiece end, along with scattered contact marks.
