Fabricated from rayon (a manufactured fiber made from natural sources such as wood and agricultural products that are regenerated as cellulose fiber, with the many types and grades of rayon imitating the feel and texture of natural fibers such as silk, wool, cotton, and linen), consisting of a bright red field bearing two 260 mm (w) x 258 mm (h) white nylon five-pointed stars stitched in place side-by-side, on either side of center on both sides. The hoist sleeve is placed on the left side, measuring 77 mm in width, and incorporating two brown leather slotted tabs, a single one of which is stitched in place just inside the opening at either end, with a manufacturer's label inscribed "Phil. Quartermaster Depot / INSPECTED BY", with the handwritten number "485" stitched in place just inside the bottom opening. The flag measures 1,220 mm (w) x 890 mm (h) not including its fringe that appears along the top, bottom and right side edges, the fringe composed of multiple long strands of cord held in place by a reinforcing strip stitched in place to the body of the flag. Exhibiting fold marks from storage, is free of soiling and without holes, maintaining its bright colors. Extremely fine.
