Upper composed of a navy blue dyed cotton, with silver bullion wire throughout in the various insignia, navy blue felt backer, bearing the China Burma India Theater insignia in the center, with American flags on flagpoles protruding from the shield on either side, the shield and flags with red and blue embroidered fields and positioned within an outlined map of India, inscribed "BURMA" above and "1945" below within the map, "USA" at the upper left, "CHINA" at the lower left and "INDIA / USA" to the lower right, all of which are just outside the perimeter of the map, the map and text framed within an intricate traditional Indian lacy chain-style design, all four edges trimmed in red, white and blue threading intertwined with fine silver bullion wire, measuring 392 mm (w) x 402 mm (h), extensive soiling evident on the navy blue felt backer which carries through to the front, causing slight discoloration in the navy blue dyed cotton, without interruptions in the fabrics, near extremely fine.
