United States. An Army Brigadier General's Rank Field Flag
Fabricated from cotton, consisting of a bright scarlet red field bearing a 258 mm (w) x 247 mm (h) white cotton five-pointed star stitched in place in the center on both sides. There are 105 mm (w) x 105 mm (h) reinforcing patches stitched in place at the upper left and right of the flag on the back, where they butt the hoist sleeve. The thick cotton hoist sleeve is stitched in place on the left side, composed of one strip folded over from the front to the back, measuring 78 mm in width on both sides, the sleeve with large brass grommets placed at the top and bottom of the sleeve for pole placement, along with 80 mm long strips of synthetic material inserted within the sleeve at each end for additional support, stamped in black ink "DSA100-74-C-0793 BRIG: GEN'L U.S.A. / 845 - 262 - 2406 3 FT. X 4 FT. / ANNIN & CO." on the front. The flag measures 1,220 mm (w) x 890 mm (h). It exhibits fold marks from storage, with soiling evident on the white star on the reverse, however, it is free of any tears, holes or mothing, maintaining its bright colors. Better than very fine.
