Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

A Second War American Naval Pilot's Visor

A Second War American Naval Pilot's Visor -  The exterior of this cap is fabricated from black wool, with a 35 mm wide black cotton exterior headband, two small brass United States Navy buttons on either side, each with the traditional eagle and anchor surrounded by thirteen stars insignia, supporting a multi-textured gold-colored bullion chin strip with a leather backer across the cap`s brim, the chin strap with two adjustable sliders, raised crown at the front and sloping towards the rear, in a traditional saddle shape. The upper on the brim is fabricated from black patent leather and trimmed in leather, fronted by a two-piece United States Navy insignia, the eagle standing upon the shield in silver, overlaying a base of crossed anchors, affixed via two screwbacks to a reinforced black wool backer, the insignia measuring 60 mm x 70 mm. The inside has a dark brown leather sweatband with multiple ventilation holes around the circumference, the two ends of the sweatband tied together at the rear via a white ribbon in a traditional bow-tie. The underside of the brim in forest green nylon, the reinforced brim very stiff. The dome has a full-length elongated oval-shaped cloth patch, running from front to back, the upper of the patch with a moisture-resistant finish, a protective celluloid moisture shield sewn in place, with the "NAVAL UNIFORM SERVICE Under Supervision U.S. Navy" manufacturer`s name printed on the underlying cloth patch, measuring 260 mm x 285 mm x 90 mm in height. The black patent leather brim exhibits deep scratches and moderate crazing, the sweatband has separated from the body of the cap on the left side, the moisture shield has yellowed and has experienced fragmentation in one corner, with spots of white paint evident on the underside of the brim and in the dome. The exterior black wool remains relatively clean and free of fabric interruptions and mothing, with intact stitching. Very fine.
