Fabricated from an olive green wool with fold down flaps also in olive green wool on either side, the top edge of the flaps trimmed in hunter green piping, a 19.3 mm (w) x 25.5 mm (h) silvered bronze Airborne badge affixed via a push pin on the right side, a 57 mm red, white and blue embroidered Airborne Paratrooper insignia sewn in place on the left side. The inside is lined in a rust-coloured rayon, with a 25 mm wide simulated black leather sweatband, a label affixed to the left side of the sweatband inscribed " "This garment is warranted to meet or exceed the standards of specification(s) number MIL-C-14012 and was produced under certificate number 1-100-a from basic material warranted by the manufactuer (sic) to have been produced in accordance with sample under current certificate." / 100% WOOL / WPL NO. 12550 / SIZE 6 7/8". The cap measures 275 mm (w) x 137 mm (h), exhibiting crazing in the sweatband, otherwise, it is free of soiling and interruptions in the fabric. Extremely fine.
